Course aim: This 2 day Recertification Course covers a comprehensive range of topics to prepare the qualified First Aid Responder to administer emergency care in the workplace. Participants will learn a high level of practical skill and theoretical knowledge, so that they can deal competently with any situation that may arise in the working environment.

Course objectives: 

At the completion of this First Aid Response Recertification course learners will be able to:

• Deal with life threatening or potentially life threatening conditions in the pre-hospital environment until arrival of emergency medical services.

• Provide First Aid Response for conditions not thought to be life-threatening but are necessary to prevent further harm before the emergency medical services arrive

• Provide pre-hospital First Aid Response in a wide range of environments including home and recreational settings.

• Course pre-requisites: 
• Learners must have a valid OFA Certificate or have completed a First Aid Recertification Course in the last 2 years.

• Students should be physically fit enough to carry out chest compression on a manikin while kneeling. It is a requirement that students demonstrate effective compressions and ventilations during the class. Funding maybe available to eligible Learners.
